Civil Wedding

This card was made for my niece who got married at the weekend.
I got the image from MayzyArt and it's called Mix and Match Kissers set, which is brilliant for civil weddings, I altered it to what I wanted.

I made a stepper card, and used embossalicious roses folder, X-cut hearts die, distressing ink, a Sakura gel pen and gems. I used promakers to colour the image and used glamour dust on the dress.

The next card is one of my favourite makes and are so easy to make.
Have used flowers, pearls and acetate from my stash box, the flourish die, X-cut border die and spellbinders tag die.

Here is a photo of my niece Julie and her partner Emma, it was a wonderful day, and we was overjoyed to have been invited.

And here is photo of my niece Julie, doesn't she look gorgeous.

Cousin's 50th Card

Have been a bad blogger, it's been months since my last post and my new year resolution was to blog more, but life has a habit of throwing obstacles in your way.

Anyway todays card is for my cousin who is 50 today, I decided to do a stepper card and I'm rather happy with how it's turned out. The image is from Redonkadoodles, which have some amazing digis, so pop over and have a look. Have coloured the stamp using promarkers, and used a red Sakura glaze pen for the cherries to make them shiny. The silver mirror card, black card and white card are from my card stash. The alphabet and numbers are All Occasion Dies by Robert Addams which you can get from Joanna Sheen. I stuck some glitter and peeloffs around the stamp to make it look as if she's just popped out of the cake.

I will be entering this in the I Love Promarkers challenge

I made one last year for my cousins wedding in white, which is also on my blog.

Another Celebration Bottle

I've made for this one my cousin's husband, he's a big fan of Hull FC and black and white is their team colours, so an easy make. I often get stuck for ideas as what to put on cards for men, and when I'd finished this one, it was lacking something. So I decided to add a braided ribbon, which I learnt to do from a tutorial on card-making-magic.com, they're many other tutorials and lots of cardmaking ideas, which are also worth a look.

Celebration Bottle

I made this card for my daughter's friend at college last week, and have only just been allowed to upload photo's. I haven't made one of these celebration bottles for quite sometime
and thought I was going to have problems remembering how to do one, but it was simple
once I'd started.

The template comes from Arty Farty, the flowers, pearls, ribbon and peel-offs are from my stash.
I've used Stickles Star Dust on the flowers to give them some added sparkle.

OMG my daughter Kelly is 19

Where did all the years go, it doesn't seem that long ago when I was 19, 23 years to be exact YIKES. Have made an 8x8 card, which I don't usually make cards this big but I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. The image is from Saturated Canary and is called Fancy, and she is beautiful. Coloured using promarkers and flexmarkers, the backing papers are from Printable Heaven, the flowers are from my stash and given extra sparkle using Stickles Star Dust. Have used MFT fancy flourish and added pearls from my stash, have used a ribbon tag from Spellbinders (trio two) and the sentiment is from LOTV.

This card I've made is from her brothers and I've used Pippa Longsocks from Sugar Nellie. Coloured her with promarkers, the backing papers are from Printable Heaven, flowers from my stash. The sentiment is from LOTV and have used Spellbinders circle die and the corner is from Cheery Lynn Designs (Lace Corners Deco F). Have used the Fancy Flourish again and added Stickles Star Dust to give extra sparkle.

Welcome home to Hull's Olympic Heroes

Sorry that this isn't a better photo, but me and my family where at the welcome home celebration of our very own Olympic Heroes, Luke Campbell and Alex Smith.  Alex got to the finals of the Hammer throwing, didn't bring a medal home but he's going to Rio in 2016 and try for gold then. But the biggest buzz for our city is Luke Campbell winning the gold in the boxing and boy is this city jumping for joy. Around 13,000 people turned up to celebrate Alex and Luke's achievements and crikey it was loud and made your hair stand on end.

And here is my son Josh, next to the gold postbox on Hessle Road where Luke lives.
We also have a phonebox painted gold near to the boxing club where he trains.
Just need to buy some stamps with Luke on them now.

White Wedding Card

I made this for my cousin and had no idea what colours was going to be in her bouquet, so I stuck with traditional white.
It took me about a week to make, as I changed my mind a couple of times with the flowers. Eventually I went with the Spellbinders Bauble Blossoms One and was thrilled with how they look, (they look better in real life), and I'm still learning how to take better photos. I also used the MFT Fancy Flourish, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, and a Xcut border die. Then added pearls to give it some extra bling and then added the acetate to protect it.

My friend Nicki's Birthday Card

I made this card for my best friend Nicki (indicards)who's birthday was on Saturday, so I can put this on my blog now. She's a one in a million friend, she's always making me laugh, and always being there when I need her, just as I'm always there when she needs me. The only downside of our friendship is she lives 200 miles away and we don't always see each other as often as we would like.

Anyway the image and the sentiment is from LOTV, coloured with promarkers,  sorry I can't remember where the papers come from. Used the Lattice PATP punch from Martha Stewart and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I've put Stickles star dust on them.

I'm going to enter this into I ♥ ProMarkers challenge Anything Goes.

40th Birthday Memory Book

I made this for my brothers 40th birthday, and instead of cards I made this memory book.
Now this is totally out of my comfort zone, but I'm so pleased with the end results.
My brother thought it was brilliant and family and friends had a good laugh at the old photos.

Sorry it's a bit picture heavy.

Niece's Birthday Cards

These are for my niece Lily who is 2 today and shares her birthday with my nephew.
I've used Sweet Blossom from Wee Stamps and I think she's so cute. I've coloured her with promarkers, added some Gelly Roll from Sakura on the flowers to add some sparkle. The corner die is from Cheery Lyn Designs, sentiment is from LOTV, the backing paper is from Bearly Mine Designs. And the flowers which I've put Stickles Stardust on, the buttons and pearls are from my stash box.

This one was made by my daughter, I coloured the image but my daughter did everything else, and I think she did a brilliant job. The stamp is from Sugar Nellie and is called Best Day Ever, the corner dies are from Whimsy Stamps, the backing paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and the sentiment is from Personnel Impressions. The ribbon is from my stash box.

Nephew's Birthday Cards

These are for my nephew, who is 4 today.
The dragon is a freebie from Dustin Pike, coloured with Promarkers and I've 3d him.
The banner is a Die-namics and the sentiment is from LOTV. Think this could have had a number 4 on it as I think it looks a bit plain.

This is another freebie from Dustin Pike, coloured with Promarkers and also 3d him. Can't remember where the backing papers are from, the sentiment is from Personnel Impressions, and the corner dies are from Whimsy Stamps. The gems are from my stash box. Sorry the picture looks pink but I edited it and didn't realise it had gone this colour, will need to look into getting a light box.

Another update about my son.

Well we went back to the hospital to see the doctor yesterday (Wednesday) and we threw loads of questions at her, which she happily answered. The one answer which we wasn't expecting was which type of epilepsy Josh as, we was hoping it was the same as what my daughter suffered from, which was childhood epilepsy and she outgrew it. The one Josh as is grand-mal, which in other words for those who don't know, it means he'll have it all his life and he'll be on medication for all his life too.  I can't begin to think about Christmas, I'm just too upset, I'm just thankful that I've got most of the presents already and a wonderful husband who is there giving me loads of love and hugs. And I'm thankful for the wonderful friend who's been there for me too, although she lives 200 miles away, so big hugs and thanks to Nicki (indicards).

Update on my son Joshua

Thought I'd give a update on my son Joshua, he had an appointment for an EEG on Monday (5th) and was told that it could be 2-3 weeks before I knew the results. Well on Wednesday (7th) while he was at school he was playing outside, and he had a massive seizure which lasted about 6 minutes. Which when he went down, his face took most of the impact and if you can bear to look at the photos below, you can see just how much damage he did. Thankfully no broken bones, but we won't know for sure until all the swelling as gone down. When we got to the hospital one of the doctor's was so angry about how long we would have to wait for the EEG results he went and chased them up. The results came back showing that Joshua had abnormal brain waves, hopefully we'll know more when we go back on Wednesday. They've started him on Sodium Valporate, 300mg twice a day, and next week this increases to 500mg twice a day, and then we'll see how we go from there. We're thankful that Joshua as been diagnosed with Epilepsy, just not happy that he had to sustain such a battered face to get the results.

Here are the photos of Joshua,
I'm sorry if they aren't very nice.

Another Bad Week

Well I've had another bad week with my 14yr old son Josh, as I said in my last post he had a seizure during the night and we spent the day in hospital. Well in the last fortnight Josh has had 2 more seizures, one during the night and one on Sunday while eating his tea, we got no warning that he was going to have one, only my other son screaming that Josh was sprawled across the table having a seizure.  This has to be the worst seizure I've seen him have so far, and it took him ages to start to come out of it. We was taken to hospital and we had to spend the night, which for anyone who's had to stay in hospital you spend more time awake then asleep. We've finally been given some medication that doesn't stop the seizures just makes him relax while he's having one. We were hoping that he would have had an EEG yesterday but because of colds, there was a staff shortage, so we have to wait for a letter then I can ring and make an appointment.  I hate all this waiting around never knowing if he's going to have another seizure and when, I'm not sleeping too well either as I keep getting up every couple of hours to check on him.
I'm hoping to make some Christmas cards in the next few days, so I'll post them if I get any made.
Thanks for reading and sorry for the long post.

What A Week

Well I have to say I'm glad that this week is over. What started off as a good week went down hill really quickly. On Tuesday at 5.15am my youngest son Tommy came into my bedroom and told me that Joshua was making funny noises, I'm so glad the noise woke Tommy up. I rushed into their room and Josh was having a seizure, and with him being on his front he was smoothering himself, I tried to put him on his side with no luck, he's 14 and small for his age, he has global developmental delay and autism, and he was a dead weight. So my husband had managed to pull him over while I phoned for an ambulance, which I have to say they got here within 5 mins and where brilliant with Josh, by which time Josh was coming round from his seizure, but poor Josh didn't have a clue who we where or what was happening to him, which is heartbreaking. He's ok now and back to his old self and we're now waiting for an appointment for him to have an EEG which is not something we're looking forward to as he doesn't like his head being touched and he'll lash out.
The only let down was the aftercare we recieved at the hospital, Josh was given a examination when he went onto the childrens ward and afterwards was put into the play area and because having a seizure can leave you tired and all you want to do is sleep there was no bed or anything that he could lay down on. So when we got home we both went to bed totally exhausted. Sorry about the long post.

Here are my lovely sons Joshua, Tommy and me in Spain, I love this photo.

Another Bookatrix

This is an order for another sister-in-law for her daughter who is 30 on Saturday. She gave me a list of things that she didn't want on it, which didn't leave me much to work with. She did say she was interested in going shopping, which is what most women love doing. But I thought it has to be a bit more special and I generally do the shopaholic cards on every day cards.

So this is the end result

A close up of the topper

Close up of the verse, which I personalised.

Everyting is from my stash box.
